Still a work in progress but non the less, wanted to take a snapshot. I did this painting using acrylic paint. I have never used acrylics before so I was concerned about mixing the colors etc and how the painting would turn out. Not a michelangelo but a good start I think. I think I finally overcame that monster that was making me afraid of painting all weekend long. I have some other ideas in my sketch book and will work on implementing them as time permits.
I finally did the full scale 5 object composition this weekend. I took pictures of various steps of producing this piece and just wanted to share. Please give me your critics. On the final piece one major thing I messed up was the scale and lighting but I want to redo this piece and fix some of those things but overall I was happy with final result.
Here is another pencil artist whose work I admire. She is self taught and has some amazing work. I still like J.D. Hillberry's work better but I this lady has so much potential. One thing I love about her work over Hillberry's is she capture more modern subjects and her works is very easy to relate to.
Here name is Nicole. B. Fekaris and her work can be viewed at www.extremepencil.com
Here are a few pieces I like
This is one of he artists that has inspired me to do pencil art. His work is so good. I know his has natural abilties that i do not have an far more years of experience and practice but I do hope to produce something nearly as good as his work.

Here are a few favorites from his gallery. Notice the amazing attention to detail on these piece. He even accounts for refraction of objects against glass and liquids. Also he is able to achieve that shining glossy surface that some of his objects are placed. I just love this guy's work.
This is a 5 object composition I started working on earlier this evening. Actually I should say late last night since its already 4am. I wanted the perfect night light to get the right shadows. However I was getting frustrated with the sketches and I was to distracted by phone calls from home and the need to surf the internet :-).
Anyway, I think this is enough to server as a pre-production sketch I still need to work on the lighting and shading of more of the object but at least you can get an idea of what I am working on. I have done a few other pencil sketches but will upload them later.
Any comments feedback on how to improve this will be appreciated. I am new at pencil shading so any help is appreciated. I need to look up this great pencil artist. I forget his name right now but I have seen his book and his work is amazing.
Again another random painting I did this afternoon with my DD. I wanted to do a nighttime landscape but felt inspired by all the warm sunlight so I changed gears and ended up with this piece
This is a beach scene I painted using water colors. It was inspired by our recent trip to cocoa beach. I really wasn't planning to paint it but I was doing some painitng activities with my DD this afternoon and just got inspired to create this piece. It is still a WIP but I wanted to capture this point coz I felt i could use it in something later.
So I am officially back on the job market. I have posted my resume on dice, monster and hotjobs. I have been getting several calls from recruiters however most want me to relocated for permanent jobs in other states. So far, there has been an offer for MO, NJ, PA, GA (at least 8 offers) and NY. I really dont mind relocating to some of these places, especially ATL. I have lived in ATL and I loved it and I know there are many great opportunities there but we moved to Orando about 6 months ago. We bought a house down here. DH really loves it down here and he is just not willing to move. Part of it is he just wants roots. I totally agree with him and also for DD's sake, its good to have that stability. On the other hand, I keep thinking what is the cost fo this stability? Ok we stay here, its a good place etc but there aren't many job opportunities in my field. So right now I am only pursung telecommuting opportunities. I think I will sacrifice for the sake and happiness of DH and DD. There are currently 3 jobs I am hoping work out. The first is in CA(yes it is too far but the pay is good and they will pay for all expenses). The second is in Massachusetts but it is a short term engagement for 3 months. The pay is ok but the plus is I can telecommute after first 3 weeks. The third is in NYC ( I love NYC even with its filthy streets) but I do not have enough details about this opportunity. The MA and NYC jobs would be ideal because that would keep me on the east coast and travel will be within same time zone so no jet lag but I have always wanted to go all the way west and this would be a good opportunity for me to be out west. I hope I can be able to interview today or tomorrow and be back to work by next week.
Ok if you are reading this wish me luck. Also sending me some get a s decent and interesting job in Orlando.
Oh BTW I keep kicking myself in the shins for turning down a job from Oracle back in 2005. I was already on another gig and I felt it would be back karma to ditch that gig for a job at Oracle. Now hingsight being 20/20 I am thinking it wouldnt have been a bad thing. I have send my resume to Oracle consulting and I am hoping for a call back from them. This time if the offer is extended I will gladly accept it. I think with Oracle I can still have the opportunity to travel but also the benefit of long term stable employment.\
Ok end rant.
This past weekend was Easter. My Cousin, Meloh, from TN came to visit us. It was a fun filled weekend. We went to the beach, and downtown disney. We spent quiet a bit of time in doors catching up and watching vids. The weather wasn't as nice as what one would normally expect in Orlando. I was sad to see him leave yesterday but I know we shall see him soon. You know he almost missed his flight but thankfully the airport wasnt as busy and he still had 10 mins before boarding.
I did some sketches this weekend. Need to finsih them up and upload them.
This is a Logo I created for my company. The logo has a lot of significance to me. The logo is made up on 4 rings which represents my siblings. The Anchors represents my parents. They are our foundation and the strength that keeps us going and grounded. I didn’t want to go with a simple/traditional anchor, so I designed one shows how our parents bind us together.
I will most likely change the name of the company because I have found another company with the same name but I will keep the logo design.
